Soooooo...... Things are pretty bad right now for a lot of people. Republicans continually yelling about "freedom," yet more and more people are having their rights stripped away, including American citizens who just don't agree with the current administration. It's a lot for people who are forward thinking, people who believe that the status quo of the last two hundred years needs to be completely let go.
Our representatives are no longer representing us, but their own self interests, Democrat or Republican. Maybe there are a few honest Mr. Smith Goes to Washington types out there, but they're being drowned out by the ridiculously inept people currently running the government.
The world has turned y'all. Globalization is real, and it was created by greedy Republican assholes who wanted to skimp on their labor costs. Look it up, but like actually though. Now the technology that's been evolving at far faster a pace than the intentional stupefaction and stratification of the masses has us all interconnected globally as well, so the ideas of the many are starting to outweigh the ideas of the greedy bitches who've been ruining the world for millennia.
There's a new culture of compassion, kindness, empathy, and benevolence that is blooming all around the world, most of them younger than me at 45, and this new culture has a huge barrier standing hard against them, traditionalism. This new culture of compassion is also very angry. We can't get where we want ourselves to be if we're continually downtrodden by the economics of greed, by the people who insist they should have more than everyone else, and who want to cancel entire swaths of people just for being different.
Christian Nationalism is the root of this in America, and it's just a fucking game they're playing. They want an eternal labor class, so they insist abortion be illegal and that using contraceptives is a sin. It's not about Jesus; it's about having people to work in the service industries. Anyone who tells you otherwise is either oblivious to what's actually going on, or they're lying to your face.
I've had several talks with people who say that the entirety of the media has been compromised, and while I agree to a certain extent, we've all been watching mass genocides take place in real time on social media because this is where the globalization of technology has brought us. The people experiencing that shit and filming it as a cry for help are not compromised. They are suffering, and the people who are perpetuating that situation are all evil, scum-sucking money worshippers.
Traditionalism must die. We cannot continue to live like this with almost nine billion people on this planet. The same ol' same ol' is just that, not fucking worth our time anymore, not worth the suffering of millions worldwide, especially the global south. This version of no-holds-barred capitalism isn't sustainable.
The latest news I read this morning states that people in default on their student loans will now have their wages garnished, as if the terrible effect of being default on their credit score isn't fucking enough. I'm relatively ok because I've been paying mine back for several years, but so many people, including veterans, were duped years ago by a predatory, for-profit college system that didn't give them any real world skills, including my own mother, who never got the jobs they dreamed of because they weren't actually marketable. So now what?
Most people who have a comfortable amount of money, whether intentionally or not, are incredibly out-of-touch from the vast majority of society. San Antonio has one "nice" part of town, which is essentially a V from just south of downtown out to the suburbs that run across the Northside. All the rest of the city is considered "ghetto," for whatever dumb ass reason, and the majority of people in the other three parts of town hover around the poverty line, but people with comfortable money don't give a fuck about them, and somehow those who go without still care about those who are living well. How about that?
So this new culture of compassion is rising, whether traditionalists want it or not, whether Christian Nationalists can stand to see difference or not. I think this culture of compassion may have to move the traditionalists out of the way, and it may not be the most peaceful thing that happens, but it is inevitable, and rather than fight it, you should probably join us in community and compassion. Doesn't that sound much cooler?
